All of my paintings are inspired by nature, by the sights and sounds of 40 years of walking Block Island roads and beaches. Each season's colors are so beautifully intricate and evoke many feelings. I love abstract impressionistic painting because it allows me to experiment with gesture, movement and emotion, while combining several layers and differing textures of oil paint. Painting for me is a joyful exploration of Block Island's storms, shorelines, sunsets, salt marshes, etc.
Eileen Dinolfo Miller has lived with her family year-round on Block Island for 20 years. She is currently a member of the Spring Street Gallery and taught at RI School of Design.
